Assoc Prof Nigel Lever

Dr Lever trained in Cardiology at Wellington Hospital and then undertook a Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship in Oxford UK.  He returned to Wellington Hospital to establish the Cardiac Electrophysiology program in 2001.  In 2006 he moved to Auckland to join the Cardiac Electrophysiology service at Auckland Hospital where he is currently the Clinical Director, introducing AF ablation and complex arrhythmia mapping and treatment techniques as well as the National Lead Extraction service.  He established the atrial fibrillation ablation program at Mercy Hospital in 2011.

Associate Professor Lever is actively involved in research with the Auckland Bioengineering Institute
and Physiology Department at the University of Auckland, and involved in teaching at the Faculty of
Medical and Health Sciences.
