Veronica - Senior cardiology Nurse

Veronica joined the Auckland Heart Group in January 2008, working part time in the evenings at our Epsom clinics. Although she comes from Dundee, Scotland Veronica began her nursing career in Poole, England, where she gained extensive experience in all areas of nursing, particularly cancer care, and coronary care. On moving back to Scotland Veronica worked in coronary care and day surgery at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

In 2002, Veronica and her family moved to New Zealand, and Veronica took up the position of shift co-ordinator of the Coronary Care Unit at Middlemore Hospital. Subsequently she worked in intensive care at North Shore Hospital, and in 2006 became a Clinical Nurse Advisor at North Shore Hospital.

Veronica is currently studying part time at the University of Auckland, and recently graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Science. Veronica is now completing her thesis and hopes to finish her Masters degree in 2011. Veronica has a keen interest in nursing leadership, which is reflected in her thesis.

Aside from nursing Veronica, enjoys the company of her two young adult children. Her other interests include travel, walking, and reading. She has recently started to play golf.
