Renelle works part time for the Auckland Heart Group, holding echocardiography  clinics at our Mercy Hospital premises on Saturday mornings.

During the week, Renelle, a senior cardiac sonographer in adult cardiology,  is  fully employed by the Auckland District Health Board (ADHB)   as a  "specialist" cardiac sonographer.  Renelle is also currently in the role of  Charge Technologist for cardiac ultrasound at the ADHB.  

Renelle has been involved in cardiac technology since 1986 (nearly 20 years) and has been practising cardiac ultrasound since 1989.   Her qualifications include:

• NZCS (NZ Certificate in Science - physiology option) 1988
• Post Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Measurement technology (1990)

Renelle has made significant contributions through echocardiography, to research.  She has developed a special interest in the education and training of sonographers and is responsible for developing teaching programmes and echocardiography protocols for the Department. At  present  Renelle is working solely in a clinical capacity.
